Mindy Nance, LCSW, TRS

Clinical Supervisor


Mindy has a BS in Therapeutic Recreation (1998) and a Master of Social Work (2003). She has been working with at risk youth since 1995 and started with YHA in 2001. Mindy enjoys being active with our youth. She believes that through activities and recreation youth not only build confidence, but stay out of trouble. Some of her favorite activities have been camping, snowboarding, hiking and horseback riding. Mindy engages well with youth in a way that connects and generates a healthy self esteem. Mindy herself is quite active with running, swimming, and biking. She recently completed an Ironman and continually is training. She loves animals and riding her horse Penny.
 
  Brian Garlock

Clinical Director/ Owner


Brian has been working with this population since 1993 and has always had a passion to work in this type of setting.  Brian is the clinical director of the company and with that he oversees the programming of the youth and ensures quality treatment.  With that said, Brian also maintains his manual labor roots and finds time to plant trees, build fences, chainsaws at any opportunity and be involved in all of the sporting and camping activities with the youth that he can.  When someone arrives at YHA looking for a director….your more likely to find him covered in dirt working on a project with a group of youth than you are to finding him in his office. 
 
  Steve Anderson

Steve has an MBA from the University of Utah and is a natural born leader.  Steve is able to face problems head on and maintain a positive attitude throughout. We are fortunate to have Steve’s strengths and abilities that allow our company do what it was made to do…work with youth. Having the business side of our company running seamlessly allows for a stronger team unity and confidence in the organization. It would be difficult to find more personality and sarcasm in someone in the “numbers” field as are found with Steve.  He is a great asset and a perfect fit to our team.
 
  Faye Garlock

Faye Garlock

Faye is over the accounts payable and receivable for the company along with overseeing many of the ins and outs of the daily business operations.  Faye has an incredible eye for the details and is able to maintain a high quality of service and efficiency to allow YHA to function so smoothly.  She is also known as the most effective person in the company at keeping Brian under control.  Faye has been a great asset to the team and we are extremely fortunate to have her.
